Expeditions to Egypt, Russia, and Scandinavia to gain UN-US support

Written by Eric Van Sickle currently at the Mount Olympus archeological site

The planned expeditions overseen by Professor Randolph have now been reinforced with a cadre of a joint United Nation and United States units after an almost nearly disasterous incident that occured at the Mitikas site on Mount Olympus within of the recently discovered Halls of the Gods. It appears terrorists may have tried to infiltrate the site in an attempt to destroy the historic find of the century. There were 4 dead and several members of the excavation that were wounded, among them Professor Xerxes who is currently unconscious and has been sent to the Agios Dimitrios General Hospital in Thessaloniki. Amazingly none of the artifacts were destroyed in what appears to be an attempted bombing attack. It appears that the terrorist group numbered five and all but one were incinerated when their bomb went off prematurely. Authorities have yet to extract any motives from the surviving terrorist save remarks of "the crippled one stared at me."

The interpol officer assigned to this matter, Detective Neville Wingates, theorizes that the terrorists may have tried to enter in without use of lights and that the survivor may have been startled by one of the statues of the Olympians. "The survey teams have informed me of the life size and life-like qualities of these statues. The survivor must have bumped into the statue of Hephaestus, the forge god in Greek mythology and was depicted as a cripple, and due to the dark mistook it for an actual person." Detective Wingates could not comment on how exactly the terrorist's bomb could have detonated without causing massive damage to the statues of the Olympians. "It appears to be nothing short of luck or a miracle." the detective said in interview. The surviving terrorist operative will be detained in a local police cell until Interpol can properly deal with him.

Professor Randolph was contacted via phone, having returned to America to prepare for the expeditions based on the map chamber he had discovered in the Mitikas site, has given concern to the recent turn of events but does hold optimism. "While I am distressed that my good friend, Professor Xerxes, has been harmed during this attack. I feel that it is important to continue on with the work at hand." The UN and the US have agreed with Professor Randolph's statement and have issued out the previously mentioned cadre of officers to protect all three expeditions.

Professor Carl Randolph has personally decided to investigate the chamber that is possiblely located in Giza, Egypt. "My expertise in Archeology began in Egyptology. I hope that myself and the team I select will be aided by other Egyptologists once I have reached Giza. I'm exicted." Randolph has picked Russian Archeologist Stefan Bielmorosov to head an international team in the Ural Mountain expedition. "He has been one of the foremost researchers on Russian Mythology and Pre-history," Randolph states. Randolph informed us that expedition team for the Scandinavia has been assembled but was unable to tell us exactly whom will lead the expedition.
